Lance Bass, born James Lance Bass on May 4, 1979, in Laurel, Mississippi, is a singer, actor, producer, and television personality best known as the bass vocalist for the internationally successful pop group NSYNC. He was raised in nearby Ellisville and later Clinton, Mississippi, where music became an important part of his childhood. Bass began singing in church and local vocal groups at a young age, developing the performance skills that would eventually launch his career.
While attending Clinton High School, Bass joined the nationally recognized Attaché Show Choir and the Mississippi Show Stoppers, gaining valuable experience in singing, choreography, and live performance. At just 16 years old, he was invited to audition for a new vocal group being formed in Orlando, Florida. He joined *NSYNC in 1995 alongside Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, and Chris Kirkpatrick. The group went on to become one of the best-selling boy bands in music history, producing major hits and selling tens of millions of records worldwide.
